Fall Festival

This past Sunday was our church's annual Fall Festival. Normally, people decorate the trunks of their car and the kids go from trunk to trunk treat-or-treating. BUT, since we had our very own mini-hurricane like winds, it moved inside the church. It was still a great time and Sean got to do his first official trick or treating! Here is our little monkey:

This is Sean's buddy Brock - that's one cool lookin' pirate if you ask me!

I'm not sure who was more excited about the candy, Sean or Jamie!

Miss Johnetta had an ILLINI theme and even had this gorilla that danced to the ILLINI fight song. Sean was mesmerized! I wasn't sure if it was the song, or the fact that it looked like him in his halloween costume! :-)

Dustin and Aubrey were in charge of bobbing for apples. What you don't see in this blog are pictures of Jamie being the first to bob... Sean, however, wasn't about to stick his head in there. In fact, he wasn't sure about it at first, but eventually he and his buddy Brock figured, "hey, we can just grab one!"

After the apples we moved on to the cakewalk. We only played twice before we one! Check out that cake!!! YUMMMM!

Finally, the night wrapped up with balloons! Of course Sean had a "light saber", and Mr Patriotic Dustin had his red, white and blue "hat"!

Our very own Handy Manny (aka Sean)

Jamie was doing some work on our front door, and little Mr. Helper was all about showing Daddy how it is REALLY done!

Just chillin'

Hanging with the Meyers

This last weekend our friends Dustin and Aubrey came over to hang out (you've seen them in our blog before). They are great friends and are really good with Sean. Here are a few pictures from their visit (notice how... special... Dustin looks in Sean's chair):

Latest Baby Lance checkup

Today was my 12 week OB appointment - 12 weeks! Where does the time go! Everything looks really good, of which of course we're thrilled about (blood pressure, blood sugar, etc.) At first they couldn't find Baby Lance's heartbeat, and even though they tell you not to worry, that can be normal, I would challenge you to find a mommy-to-be who wouldn't worry. Fortunately, they brought in the portable sono machine! :-) Baby's heartbeat was 122... normal, but LOW, so of course now I'm thinking boy.

Dr. Dillard laughed at me when I said that... she said, "Oh my gosh, you know that is an old wives tale and has no truth, right?" I know it is, but we'll see! She said if they checked it again right now it could be in the 150's! Guess we'll have to wait! My sonogram will be the week before Christmas, so we'll see who is right. According to almost all of my friends, it's a girl (based on my pregnancy symptoms), but if you believe the heart rate thing, it's a boy... What do YOU think???? Take our poll to the right!

Big boy bed... not so much

So most of you know that we attempted a "Big Boy Bed" in an effort to help with some sleeping issues we were having with Sean. First, let me say that Sean is still in his crib and sleeping GREAT (thank you Dr. Striegel!!!) But, we did try it out for one night... one long, loooooooooooooooong night. Here are a couple of pictures (doesn't he look so little?):

Here is a video of him getting on his bed... he did great! However, he did even better getting off the bed (every minute until 2:00 a.m.!!!!)

My favorite thing to do...

I'm SO glad that Sean has such a strong love for reading (Lord knows that doesn't come from his parents!!!)... here he is last night winding down before bed. What a cutie!

Leaving, on a jet plane...

Okay, so we're not actually going anywhere. Our friends the Dively's are actually the ones at Disney right now. BUT, since Sean can't go on a real plane, he goes on the Daddy plane!

Look what I found...

Under all that hair! A cute little boy! :-)

Our very own hippie

Okay, so I've heard that boys are stinky (right Kel?), that they will grow up and eventually eat you out of house and home (still not sure I believe that one yet)... but NO ONE told me how fast their hair grows! We're not those parents who particularly like long hair on boys, thus the trip to Mastercuts what seems like every other week. It wouldn't be so bad if this child's hair would lay flat, but oh no, it stands straight up like a peacock! Examples for your viewing pleasure:

Sleeping with Mickey

The other night I went in to check on Sean before we headed off to bed, and this is what I saw (COMPLETELY melted my heart!!!):

#1 Groupie

Saturday we had our friend Dustin and Aubrey over for dinner. We always love visiting with them! After grilling out (and before Sean's bedtime), we decided to rock out with a little rock band. Me being the AWESOME groupie that I am, decided pictures needed to be taken. What you don't see in the pictures is Sean clapping and dancing... maybe the title of #1 groupie should really go to him! Anyway, don't they all look like they are having fun?!?
