Jenn's new blog

If you have a few minutes, check out my new blog that I'm working on... I have LOTS to post, so check it often. Let me know what you think!

Scovill Zoo (again)

Since Sean had SUCH a good time at the Scovill Zoo in Decatur, and since the weather has been so unseasonably cool, we thought it would be nice to take a day and head over with the family. This was Nathan's first time, and he LOVED it! We set him up in the stroller so he could see out. He was smiling the whole time just taking it all in. It was amazing!

Of course Sean's main objective was to ride the "choo-choo train" as many times as possible! Daddy and Sean took a ride, and then later, Mommy and Sean got to go. It was a fairly quick trip (had to get home for a nap), but the boys loved every minute of it... and Mommy and Daddy loved every minute of watching the boys excitement!

Here are some pictures from the trip. I wish you could see the smile on Sean's face on the train, but you can see Nathan's smile instead!

In case you were wondering...

My birthday is in four days! ;-)

My smiley boy

Nathan is just smiling like crazy these days! Before work one day this week, he was just soooooo happy, I had to snap away! Gotta love those cheeks!

Putt-Putt

Last night my branch at work had an outing at Putt Zone (formerly Putt-Putt for those of you who are Champaign natives). Spouses and kids were welcome, so Jamie and Sean went with me. Although I think Nathan is a super smart kid, he's not quite ready for miniature golf quite yet... he is only 11 weeks after all! :-)

Anyway, since my cousin's (Justin) girlfriend works there now, she (Emily) and Justin came too! Did I mention how much we LOVE Emily??? Melissa, my fellow HR buddy, and her two girls (Emily and Paige) also came. It was a really fun time! Sean was pretty good... his version of golfing was dropping the ball, kicking it, then picking it up and dropping it in the hole. Once the next person went, he did it all over again. Needless to say, we didn't keep his score! Here are some pictures from the night.

Jamie wants me to mention this was a hole-in-one shot!

Mama's boys

Check it out...

How do you like Sean's new back pack? Pretty nifty, huh?!?

My baby's first day at "School"

Sniff-sniff... Maternity is officially over. :-( Okay, I will admit it was slightly easier to go back to work than with Sean. After all, the fear of "will they still love me at the end of the day knowing I left them?" has been laid to rest. The verdict: they sure do! :-) BUT, that doesn't mean that Mommy didn't shed a tear (or two, or three).

But my little baby was perfect (of course)! The ladies said that they all took turns holding him (everyone, even those teachers not in the infant room) because he is so darn cute! He was cooing and smiling (aka - flirting) all day and was super smily when I picked him up (which just could NOT come fast enough)!

Here he is before heading off to school... isn't he just a doll?!?

Mommy and Sean day!

One thing I wanted to do before the end of my maternity leave, was to spend one whole day with Sean! He's been such a wonderful big brother that he deserved to have a day to be spoiled rotten! My friend Heather told me about the Scovill Zoo in Decatur, so I thought that would be a lovely thing for us to do... plus, they have a "choo-choo train" that you can ride around part of the zoo - how great is that?!?

Well, last week we headed over (along with Aunt Laine and Kyle) and spent a morning checking out all the neat animals. If you have never been to this zoo, I would HIGHLY recommend heading over. I know there are better ones around (I heard Bloomington is really great, and of course Indy), but for the price and short drive, this one is WELL worth it!

Of course my little man could have really cared less about the animals. All he really wanted to do was ride the "choo-choo train". When Elaine asked him what his favorite animal was, he reply (in true Sean fashion) was "CHOO-CHOO"! Yeah, he could have ridden it all day!

Here are a few pictures from our outing. Enjoy!
