Nathan's first haircut

You know it's bad when your baby was born needing a haircut! Yes, we buckled down and finally cut Nathan's hair... we had to, it was getting in his eyes it was so long!

Look how much we cut off!

What do you think? Do you even recognize him?? What a cutie!

All aboard!

This weekend, Grandma and Grandpa took all of us to Chicago for the night. We got to ride the train (which was definitely the way to go) of which Sean talked about non-stop three weeks prior. He was in complete aw the entire time and was such a good boy (both boys were excellent)! We even got comments on the way there and on the way home of how well behaved they were! We were very proud! We didn't do much while in Chicago, which is part of what made the trip so much fun!

Here are some of the pictures from the weekend... Waiting for the train to arrive:

On the train:

The excitement was too much for Nathan to handle!

Some of the nice things about traveling by train: 1) MUCH more legroom than an airplane, 2) bigger bathrooms, 3) you can get up and move around more freely, 4) SNACK CAR!!! Here are Jamie and Sean coming back with snacks:

Sean telling me all about the train ride:

Out to dinner in Chicago:

Having lunch on Sunday before heading home (guess what Grandma and Sean were playing... yep, choo-choo's):

Waiting for the train/heading home:

Getting sleepy...

...and we're out...

Nathan is ready to be home - he's sleepy too (yes, I know, he needs a haircut)!

Elaine posing with Kathy (aka chatty Kathy - the lady who would NOT shut up...ever. Seriously, I had no idea a person could talk...that...much.)

Naked Baby

Don't worry - they are PG rated! Last week Nathan had a HORRBILE diaper rash, so we let him "air out" as much as possible. Of course I had to snap some pictures of him being all cute and naked!

Big choo-choo!

Tomorrow is the day we've all been waiting for... well, mostly Sean! We are all (Mom and Dad, Elaine and family, and us) boarding the "Big choo-choo" and heading to Chicago for the night.

Sean has been diligently practicing his best "ALL ABOARD" voice and he's getting quite good! :-)

I'll post pictures soon!

Game Day

I love when we put Nathan in outfits that Sean wore... it's so neat to see their similarities, but yet how different they are too!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Sean (even to date) - he was three months old:

Here is Nathan (one and a half months older) in the same outfit:

So what do you think? Do they look alike??? Here are a few more pictures from that day:

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Yesterday my "babies daddy" (as my friend Heather called him) turned 32. Yes, I married a younger man. But since my sister thought he was 32 when we first started dating seven years ago, he's really 39. So to celebrate his last year before turning the big 4-0, we had a few tricks up our sleeve.

A couple of months ago, Jamie's Mom (Becky) and Aunt Wendy told me they were coming to Illinois for a wedding. It turns out that they were going to be flying in on Jamie's actual birthday and wanted to surprise him. I thought this would be a great time to have a surprise party since he hasn't had one since he was 10. So the planning began...

Through the fabulousness that is Evite (and the fact that we don't share an email address) we were able to invite some friends and family to Alexanders (Jamie's favorite restaurant) to surprise him. Let me back up...

We have two couples that we are very good friends with - The Divelys and The Welchs. For each of our birthdays, we get together for dinner, and the birthday boy/girl gets to choose where. Kelly and I always choose The Ribeye, Greg and Mason mix it up, and Meagan (whose birthday is also in September) and Jamie always choose Alexanders. So, it was easy to get him there since he thought we were just having the typical birthday dinner with "the gang".

Surprisingly enough (pun intended), he was in fact surprised! But the biggest excitement of the evening was seeing Jamie's face when he saw his Mom and his Aunt. What a smile!!! Anyway, here are some pictures of the event. A BIG thank you to everyone who helped make the evening so special... and a big thank you to Meagan who didn't really get her b-day celebration this year! We'll make it up to you next year, I promise!

The youngest party goer... Baby Zach (Welch) and Mason - it was a very important conversation:

Jamie's second cousin, Aubrey (just two weeks younger than Nathan!):

Sean's friends Brock and Jillian (making their "silly" faces):

My cousin Justin (Jamie's boyfriend) and his should-be-fiance-if-he'd-just-pop-the-question Emily (isn't she so cute?!?):

And last but not least, my sweet, tuckered out little man!
